New Design: Double Carport Plans – 2 Car Craftsman Timber Carport

This 6 m × 6 m double carport plan provides covered parking for two vehicles and features an attractive Craftsman-inspired gable roof with exposed timber framing.

A Simple 2 Car Carport Design
The idea behind this new design was to keep the structure relatively straightforward.
Instead of enclosing the building like a garage, the open-sided design provides weather protection while retaining easy access from multiple sides.
The exposed timber posts, beams and roof framing are also an important part of the appearance, giving what could otherwise be a very simple structure considerably more character.

The concept plan shows two vehicle spaces approximately 2.7 m / 8'10" wide, with approximately 0.6 m / 2'0" between the vehicle bays.
f you have particularly large vehicles, the design can be modified to provide additional width.
Craftsman-Inspired Timber Styling
One of the main features of this design is the exposed timber structure.
Rather than hiding the framing, the timber posts, beams, braces and roof structure become part of the architectural character of the carport.
The gable roof further strengthens the traditional Craftsman appearance and makes the structure suitable for pairing with many country, acreage, farmhouse and contemporary homes.
The timber finish and roofing material could also be adjusted to better complement an existing house.
What Is Included in the Plan Set?
The plan package provides the drawings needed to understand the overall concept and discuss the project with your builder or other building professionals.
The set includes a foundation plan, dimensioned carport plan, exterior elevations showing all four sides, 3D front render and 2D plan.
Dimensions are provided in Metric and Imperial, making the design suitable as a starting point for Australian and USA projects.
